I just cant make up my mind on whether i should get the white bros DH2.0 or the 888 for my 2005 Santa Cruz V-10. At first i couldnt decide between the shiver and the two but after reading an extensive forum about the WB and the shiver ive decided to go with the shiver. One thing im worried about is the bike being choppered out. Any in is apreciated. Thanks alot!!!

I don't own either but consider this. With a 888 you might need to buy the lowered crowns right away to bring the front back down to normal height. With the WB fork, you won't have to worry about that.

they are both very good fork but for the v10 the 888 is a problematic choice, definitely dont do it if you prefer low front ends and steeper head angles, the v10 is pretty slack as it is, then add sag and a 600mm tall fork and you end up with a really chopperesque bike.
that said, the 2.0 isnt that much lower, actually its around as tall as a goride or risse crown equipped 888, maybe a couple of mm`s lower.
the 888 weighs around a half pound less than the white btw.
other pro/cons would be that the 888 is a less maintenance requiring fork, and the 2.0 can handle rough falls and hits better than the 888 (whose lowers arent as strong as the rest of the fork)
both forks are very nice performers and also extremely tunable, none of them can be characterized as easy to tune though but at the same time both have very functional external adjustments.

What he said. And remember this though. Assuming both forks give you 200mm travel, you can lower the WB so that the WHEEL is at least 200mm from your crown, with the 888, you have to keep at least 200mm between the seals and the crown.....which puts the bike higher. As far as maintenance, I might actually disagree with vitox regarding oil changes. My WB forks never got dirty oil. Every zoke I've owned needed an oil change about 2-3 times a year. Not a big deal though.
