OK, I know I asked for this a few months ago but it seems that the time has come again. .. I need more ideas for music in my spin classes. I am now teaching 5 classes a week at two different gyms and I have to mix it up alot because I have regulars that never miss a class... I play a lot of techno... Paul Oakenfold, DJTiesto, MOby, Fatboy slim....etc but I am sick of it .... any ideas out there? I am pretty much open to anything but country music at this point:D :help: :help:

Some people may not like it but, listen to some metal. The class I use to go to played a mix of rock and metal. It was the best spin class ever:thumb:

Disco maybe? SHoot, I'll have to listen more when I'm in class..I don't really remember what she plays. Actually, a lot of students make her CD's!

The last spin class I went to, the instructor played "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones. :thumb:

Some of our instructors play lots of techno - I'm not a huge techno fan, but in the spinning room, it works. Also, they play lots of dance remixes - you know, the kinds with like 2 words in the whole song but it's actually a remake of an 80s song.

I love all 80s music :)

New Order
Electronic
Depeche Mode
Erasure

I have a tape I made for non-class spinning... here are some of what's on it -

Dragula - Matrix sdtk
Rock is dead - matric sdtk
Rollin - limp bizkit
whatever, bad religion, moon baby - Godsmack
Serious Juju - sammy hagar
let me be - mighty might bosstones
James Brown is dead - LA Style
Butterfly, Lollypop porn - Crazy Town
Bawitaba - Kid Rock
More Human than human - White Zombie
to name a few....

LA Style has a good rythm to keep pace with... have you heard of them? I have two of the same CD of theirs I can send you one if you'd like.

The matrix sdtk is pretty good... but I guess it's all a matter of what music you like.

I think the Disco would be a cool idea too... I have a couple of disco cd's that I was going to make a new tape with.

Hope this helps at least a little. :)

I assume you want something that's kinda pumpin' or has a groove, right? So I don't think jazz is gonna do it. I've got a bunch of "Acid Jazz" which is more like drum 'n bass stuff, almost like "Trance". Don't know if you'd be interested in that.
Also, some of the Matrix soundtrack has some old-school groove drum 'n bass. Just some thoughts for you.

Of course there's always:
"She's a maniac, MAAAAA-NIAC, on the flooooooooor!!!!"

Hi JoJo,
This is Jules, I gave you a massage the other day, I hope it helped you. Thanks for the generious tip,I know you have been out of work and so I am flattered. Thank you.
Anyway, I can tell you a few of my favourite tunes, ones that I enjoy spinning on my own to. First off, BT is my alll time favourite, then there is Crazy Town, they do that song, "butterfly" that is all over the raido. I love White Zombie, "sexy swinging sounds", That is remixed by the Chemical Brothers, who not only are wonderful in their own right, but also have under the name of "The Dust Brothers" done quite a bit with the Beastie Boys. All of the above mentioned which cover the gamet of heavymetal, rap and techno, are awsome in my opnion to ride to. Thanks for turning me on to this site! Jules

Hey Jojo. Check out this local kid DJ Skeelz (http://www.angelfire.com/nh/djskeelz/11thlp.html). I don't know if he's still selling his 11th Hour CD in the stores anymore. But I'm sure I could just burn you a copy and give him the $5 he was selling them for. He has a few samples on his site. Let me know.

Try an essential mix, they are two hour long sets put on by England's Radio One and are preformed by notable DJ's. You can dl them with most file sharing software(i.e. bearshare, kazaa, audiogalaxy, etc.). As of right now I would reccomend Silicone Soul, King Unique, Paul Oakenfold from Rojam, China, Leftfield, Dave Seaman, Scott Bond, John Digweed from Homelands, and Laurent Garnier. These are the ones in my playlist as of right now.

If those don't float your boat, Orgy, Adema, and White/Rob Zombie work well for me.

Thanks Everyone..... I will keep checking out these ideas. Oh Novice I have heard a Paul Oakenfeld essential mix and it was awesome... maybe I will use that.

Hey Jules! I just saw your message. I am psyched that you signed up. I will probably come in for another awesome massage soon! Thanks:D Massage makes jojo a HAPPY HAPPY girl!
