View Full Version : Anyone tried a Stratos ID cart in a boxxer yet?

I need a new fork and I've just spotted a killer deal on a boxxer race.
Obviously the stock internals need to go.
My housemate runs the mojo boxcart and I'm not that impressed (under sprung and you cant get a stiffer spring).
Love to hear from someone running a boxxer with a stratos ID cartridge.

Funny that Stratos would attempt to mess with other forks, they can't seem to get most their own working properly !

Funny, I was thinking of selling my stratos s6....[/spam]

Stratos Forks work fine if you air burp it, and change the oil. Nothing fancy in those forks, and are pretty reliable, and stiff.

Since I live where Stratos is, at least I know I can get stuff back from them(warranty etc.). Hard to get warranty stuff back during Race season...

They need to sell their forks with that ID cartridge installed and get rid of their right-side up forks.

They can mess with other forks' internals because that ID system isn't their own design...but apparently it's a really good design.

As I understand it Stratos have licensed the interia valve but does that guarantee that the rebound and compression dampning is any good?

I guess we have to 'assume' since it's a system that's been proven in the past.

But Interia valve (the system) just locks out the suspension as I understand it and has no effect on what happens once the suspension has been activated. If that is an correct assumption I would love some more info on the suspension quality.

I think it locks the fork for forces that are downward...meaning jamming on the bars...upward forces from a bump make that little brass doo-hicky unleash the awesomeness of the forks bump absorbing capability.....at least this is what the brain-trust at MBA wrote in their in-depth expose on the cartridge.

supposedly this inertia valve is supposed to work much faster than the Fox versiohn....again based on the MBA think-tank

sounds like it should be good
tell you what, you get it, see how you like it, then tell the rest of us
I would get it, but I'm broke

ha ha ---> :nuts:

So that only confirms that just because there is an Interia valve it is no promise that there will be good suspension. A point which seems lost in the Interia hype and good suspension actions is to me a lot more important than lock out on an DH fork.

I would agree with you. Although I have owned a Straos fork in the past and really liked its performance. Hopefully they didnt screw up the meat and potatoes of the damper ...IMO the Inertia valving stuff is gravy
