Desperate to steal headlines from the Dim's convention..???

What headlines? The thing is a snoozefest to the nth degree.

Of course something mildly exciting like a MTB'ing Prez doing an endo on a wicked downhill is gonna make headlines.

The Conservative-Media™ sure loves Bushie, but...
He pants hard, emitting low "hrrr, hrrr, hrrr" grunts with each stroke... his shoulders bobbing up and down.

Interesting pedals. I thought clips and straps went out with the ark.

Or maybe it's a all a PR stunt?

Hmm..

I think its because he's a newbie rider. It took several of my friends (and myself) a couple years to convert over to clipless.

Heck, there is a large number of Monkeys on here that still ride flats on XC.

Gotta give him props for learnig a new sport... I liked the article where he crashed and broke the reflector. Yup... definatly a Newbie - but getting there.

I think he should retire from politics and try biking full time :D

I crack up whenever they mention about how a secret service SUV follows him around on all of his "extreme" trails. :thumb:

I don't see what's so funny.

Its their job. If you Pres. (like that's gonna ever happen :p )they'd do the same for you.

I am emailing and calling all my contacts to see if I can ride with him sometime. There's even a good XC trail on the local Air Force Base we ca ride sometime.

ermm... perhaps an SUV shouldnt fit on a trail, let alone an "extreme" trail?

They should be riding behind him ... like this guy:

The next day, a Secret Service agent riding behind him slammed onto the ground at high speed on a paved section, breaking his collarbone and three ribs.

I don't see how you can say that. Especially not knowing all the facts. A lot of trails have emergency bail out points etc.

How do you know an SUV could drive down all of the Pres's bike trails at Crawford, TX. Wait.. lemme answer that for ya... you DON'T... You don't know squat.

having an SUV driving down trails is incompatible with the concept of "singletrack", no?

Is crashing on an MTB news?

Hell no!

I've crashed, you've crashed, even the mighty Skookum has crashed. Don't let your blind (and misguided) hatred of all things GW Bush over take your senses.

N8- I know nothing about his ranch, but I do know this about trails:

You cannot drive a SUV down an "extreme" one.

That is why it's funny.

Well, I ride flats and clipless, but I can't remember the last time I saw a high end machine like Dubya's with clips & straps.

Still, whatever floats his boat.

'Specially on those extreme fireroads....

N8, What are you on about talking to Bhudda about knowing squat - In this very thread you yourself have made several assumtions about the Pres and his riding:

I think its because he's a newbie rider. It took several of my friends (and myself) a couple years to convert over to clipless.

So you don't know.

How do you know an SUV could drive down all of the Pres's bike trails at Crawford, TX

Same question to you. You don't know either.

Dem Con: How would you know? You said in another thread you didn't watch it. For all you know Clinton may have danced Naked.

Pres doing an endo on wicked downhill - With 0 hills in the background, slick tyres, and a waterbottle that hasn't fallen out?

I'm not saying it's not true, but either way that's 4 assumptions to you and 1 to Bhudda and you have a go at him?

Republicans eh?
