I heard Queen's "Bicycle" today and it got me thinking - is there a better bike song? While the lyrics do repeat "I want to ride my bicycle" over and over again, the rest of the song seems to have little or nothing to do with bikes. Nothing about parts, stunts, spinning, hucking, travel, brrrrraaaaapppp, or tire clearance. Mudvayne has a song on their last song with the lyric "throw sticks into the spokes, to relieve insecurity" but nothing else bike related in the song. Hmmm.
What do you think?
Also, no songs about motorcycles please :nono:

The Motorcycle Song (http://www.arlo.net/lyrics/motorcycle-arlo.shtml)
Slayer "Angel of Death", that's the perfect song for everything...riding, romantic evenings by the fire, making sweet love to your lady, homework, weddings, funerals, ultimate fighting, lullabyes, puppy purchasing...
it works in any situation. Try it!

well, i find it hard to believe that "the motorcycle song" is a bicycle song and not a motorcycle song.
i also belive that slayer is a great soundtrack, however there is nothing bike related in the song.
i am looking for songs about bikes or that use bikes as a metaphoric vehicle.
what else ya got?

I vote for the whole Kraftwerks album "Tour de France Soundtrack"
While there are few bike references and they are in French, the album on a whole is good.

i always like 'mountain song' by janes addiction to make me wanna go fast
Have you heard my new single "Pinch Flat"? :)
I was talking about this subject this past weekend. A metal DH band with inspired lyrics, I don't think many people would get it, but references to Boxxers spewing oil and ragdolling down the course would be pretty awesome ;)

The SmackDaddys (after the FSA cranks)
Open bath
The Bash Rings

there's a band called This bike is a pipebomb..
and then there's the Philly band R.A.M.B.O., whose singer is a bike messenger during days and writes songs like "U-lock Justice" and "Trued till Death" at night
trued til death
"jump in the shower, pick out the gravel
you dive a car, i drop the gavel
one inch closer i could have died
get out your wrench, its time to ride
the red blodd runs down my shower drain
now's the time, feel the pain
i heard you crashed, you get the high five
you bailed and took a gnarley dive
how bad's your bike, who cares about you
clean yourself off it's time to ride
you saw the big gap, you touched the sky
cargos, dickies, we roll them high"

Hmmm, there are tons of songs that reference bikes. Here are a some of my favs:
Fu Manchu "Anodizer" with the great lines "4130, the only way..." and "Flying over my head..."
The Pixies "Tony's Theme"
The Smiths "This Charming Man"
Morrissey "Such a Little Thing Makes Such a Big Difference"

not bike related, but jurassic 5 "a day at the races" really gets me pumped, and puts a rythm in my head that has the tendency to translate to my riding

I've got a bike,
You can ride it if you like.
It's got a basket,
a bell that rings,
and things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could,
but I borrowed it.
