recommend bike plz.

yes. so i am an avid mountain biker who is wanting to get a road bike. i work in a shop that carrys jamis, felt, cannondale, specialized, and KHS for road bikes. what i was lookin at so far is a felt something-or-other, or a cannondale R600 triple or R500 triple. i weigh 140 lbs. and am ~5'10". this bike will be used for work commutes (~25 miles) and general riding on the road (duh). i am not looking to spend over 1000. also, i dont really wanna buy used.

edit: i would also like to know which is better for starting out double or triple chainrings or is it more of a personal thing?

i also saw the specialized allez comp double. i will be doin 70+miles a week. i can go over 1g for price

Working at a shop you can EP (employee purchase) bikes, talk to ur boss about those. because of that I would look at the Allez Comp, or the R1000 EP'd. The Jamis Quest is also a nice bike, a little bit heavier but it is high end steel. I dont know too much about KHS or Felt...
