What companies support/are part of DJing?

A few ideas just ran through my head but before I go too far with them just curious as to what companies everyone thinks is involved in or supports dirt jumping the most?

Well the jump jam at john henry's is sponsored by Shimano. They provide some prizes and the first place cheque.

i dont think dirtjumping is really the sort of thing that needs/gets much corperate support. most of the time its a few guys out in the woods digging their own sets.

start now and hammer the crap out of as many companys as you can. aren't you already the captain of a team or something?

send out letters telling what your doing and when. the earlier the better. I wouldn't worry that it's a jumping thing, people use products of all kinds. gatorade is a drink, people drink when the get thirsty, people get thirsty when they dirt jump.

my point being, products are products and companys like to promote them. especially if they don't have to do any work.(that's where you come in)

bmx companies and any companies that offer a lot of bikes they say are meant for dirt jumps. basically almost any bike company would do it. but you'll probably end up building most of the jumps yourself.

Don't forget if you are looking for financial support and such that Local Neighborhood variety stores, arcades, pool halls all can gain valuable exposure because their target market segment will most likely predominate the spectators.

Just to let everyone know, we already have the jumps built at the local DJ park. I think we should try for Kona because they are so near to us, and we can also see about getting John Cowan here as well. :)

contact any and all companys. seriously.

if our professional about it, (i know y'all will be/are) companys will send out a ton of stuff. parts, shirts, stickers, you name it.

the earlier you start contacting them, the better. we've had jams/contest where we had so much stuff to give away everyone that showed up got something.

Plan it out far enough in advance that companies can't give you the "we've already committed to all the events we can fit into our budget for the year" routine. Last year I put on a skatepark comp at the skatebarn in Renton (which I realize isn't the same as a dirjump comp, but the same sponsors would fit the mold) and I was able to get a healthy dose of cash and prizes from some of the following companies. And I agree..contact EVERYBODY. Also, put together a sponsorship proposal and keep close tabs on your contacts.

Norco is way into it, but their bikes are like big BMX's, pretty heavy
Mtn Cycle, Haro, Kona, and Lenzsport aren't necessarily jumping specialists, but I've seen/ridden all of them, and they were all great. check them out

idun is all over it so is stump 503 stump 503 is tight guys but theyre small so i dont kno mhow much theyll fork over, but nice guys none hte less

I work and ride for Evil bikes, and we try and get involved in as much of that kind of thing as we can. We set up our tent and truck at Lenosky's jump jam, thr RYE Big wheels gig (the past 2 years), last years Bike Battle and this years as well.
I think that interest will come from those who are making equipment that is relavent to the whole DJ/skatepark/street thing.

I am pesonally inerested in the street/jump aspect of MTB's sucess, like that in the bmx industry, just because it's the kind of riding that I really love and I would love to see sucess come to the non-competetive trick oriented riding from within itself, I think it's possible.
