I was looking into possibly driving up to richmond to ride this race tomorrow, but have never ridden any of the trails the race covers.

heres a description of the course..

can anyone comment on the course they have outlined. This would be my second race, my first being a 13 miler at poor farm, and i just want to make sure its within my abilities as i've heard some of these trails can be pretty nasty.

thanks for the help

I haven't ridden the exact course but have ridden the buttermilk trail and belle isle and forest hill trail a lot. Forest hill has a few longish climbs for the city but is not to bad. The buttermilk trail is rolling and has one longish climb but otherwise you can carry speed through it into the climbs. Overall i don't think it would be to bad of a race just because the climbs aren't insanely long.

It's a good course if it is dry out, but if it has rained, it can be pretty slick and nasty. I remember somebody died there a few years back...
