Now that I live in Tri-Cities, I hardly ever have to ride in the rain, but now I have to deal with the wind. Both are sketchy to ride in, but I don't see any way wind can be fun whereas it can fun to play in the mud. Which is the lesser of two evils?

Rain offroad is worse, wind on the road is worse.

I grew up there and the wind is horrible. One day it'll rain, the next blow like crazy. Now I live in Seattle, so after living in both I would have to say the wind is worse.

yeah, its pretty windy right now and i'm contemplating wether its worth going to state patrol.
Since there's no such thing as rain here, I'm going with wind as my greater evil.

Ya... you just have to put aluminum foil over your helmet during the summer to prevent brain damage!! :D :p
I think wind is worse just because you THINK it should be ok to ride... when it's raining, your expectations are pretty low, or you at least know what to expect.

ill ride in a cold downpour with gale force winds ANY day, over HEAT. heat is my enemy. i cant deal with anything over 85, just wanna turn myself off. And im uncomfortable from 70 up. ill take numb fingers and toes over drenched in sweat and wanting to vomit thanks :)

Hey, me too! Only problem is, here the winds can be 35-40 mph...And let me tell you, with a crosswind like that, it's almost impossible to stay on the bike.

I dont mind either. I used to race XC in AZ and damn, it was hot. As with anythihng, you get used to it. I don't think that I could handle that anymore.

Did you just move to the three cities? If you did you missed out on one helluva winter in the basin, freakin cold and tons of snow...for a desert. Find any good riding down there yet?

oh i was here during the snow storm, it was insane. actually i have found some good riding here only a couple minutes from my house. i've built some jumps and i have a few nice 8-10ft drop lines. there's also lots of rock gardens if you know where to look. plus there's state patrol for trail riding and an awesome skatepark is being built in richland that is supposed to be finished in august. its gonna be 25,000 square feet!

you just reminded me of when that happened to me while I was walking with the military escort to my grandfather's grave during his burial service at Arlington Cemetary. It was hot and humid and i was wearing all black with a thick sweater--It was so embarrassing but fortunately all the soldiers had to keep a straight face. i fealt like i'd been wounded in battle with all of those guys around.

I just went by the construction sight last night, and its definitely underway although no concrete yet. its right next to the Central United Protestant Church in downtown Richland, behind Kadlec hospital. apparently some woman left like $325,000 for a city park in her will and it went to this one. the whole thing will cost like $800,000 though, but I think they now have all the money raised. i'll try to find the designs for it.

oh yeah I used to ride a volume dinosaur BMX bike, but now I got a specialized p.2 that i really like, more than the volume cuz its just more comfortable to ride. i can do pretty much all the same stuff on it too. it needs an SRS guide though
