well, i technically have to work on friday... although i think i will just "work at home". my plan for avoiding traffic is leaving work early today and hitting the jumps until traffic hopefully dies down before i have to go home (back into DC) and then commuting to work on the bike the rest of the week.

i have no excuse not to! it's only ~5 miles each way mostly along the scenic rock creek parkway (or however i feel like riding) and i get some extra exercise by riding the single speed.

im scraping 4o years of old paint off a porch and painting it white, and at the same time stripping about 2o years of mildew off a deck and waterproofing it, making a quarry-stone patio for the back of the house and finishing my car port. also landscaping a neighbors yard (after finishing their next-door neighbors front and back yards)...

heat index today is 98, and its just after noon
