hi,

So I just got the FR/DH Stan's NoTubes kit for my urban rig. It's going to help me dump the DH tubes so that I can run my Hookworms with my Aircorps.

My question is this: I know that I can run standard tires tubeless on standard rims with the NoTubes but can I run standard tires with UST rims without any tubes if I use the NoTubes? (can you say that 10 times fast, lol?) I'm talking specifically about Crossmax SL rims with (non-UST) Panaracer FireX tires. If I can run the FireX's without tubes then I can save $20-30/tire and also have the weight savings (this is for my XC bike).

Whatcha think, can I do this? Is this widely done?

Thanks,

Erik

You can run standard tires in UST rims with just sealant (no rimstrip necessary).

Does that answer your question?

That sounds like great news! :D

So, to be clear: I can run non-UST Panaracer FireX tires tubelessly with my Mavic CrossMax SL rims with just 2oz. of Stan's NoTubes sealant?

Thanks!

yes: one scoop of sealant, non-UST tire, UST rim.
