hookworm removal problem

HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET HOOKWORMS OFF!!!!!

I've already bent 3 of my plastic levers and have got the tire no where near coming off the rim so I can change the tube...if you have hookworms let me know how you got these bitches off! :angry:

get tire irons, your lbs should have them, that or try to simply stretch out the bead a bit by applying pressure with a lever.. not trying to get it off but simply applying pressure

I finally got it off with a few screwdrivers (I plan on getting a new wheel soon this one is trashed so its not a big deal) but damn this tire is a tight fit and ultra heavy duty!

Park tools makes a 6" steel tire lever set that will get off your tuffest tires...they are very strong so you need to be careful of the rim...but they work great.

I made a tire iron by pounding the end of a cheap screw driver to a slight hook and filing off the square edges. It's a godsend for tough tires, I still use standard tire levers to hold the tire away from the rim as I work around the wheel with the screw driver though.

A good trick I've learned is to make sure the entire bead is unseated from the rim on one side. Then put your tire lever in and put some pressure on it and scoot that whole bead to the middle of the rim where it has a smaller diameter. This will give you more space to work with and will usually help get your tires on and off.

I've never had any probalems removing my hookworms, i use theses pedros levers that we sell at work, real wide, and are gauranteed not to bend or break. If you can find those give them a try.

try and use some sort of lubrication, like dish soap and water mixed together in a spray bottle. works great for me on stubborn tires.

yeah, only levers i use, i used to use those park levers but i've broke like 2 sets lately so, **** those things

oh hell no, just the cheap plastic ones, none of my local shops carry the big levers
