So, I placed 3rd in my class (OK, so there were only 4 racers ;) )
Actually it was a lot of fun... I was about 10-30 overall in beginner. I raced with my camelback and was glad as hell that I did--thanks for the advice!

Two problems: fitness, and a crappy front derailluer that stopped shifting halfway through the race... I actually had to stop 4 times and shift the front by hand.:mad:

I fixed the derailleur and tuned my fork, and I am hoping to race again this Sunday, but my work schedule is kind of nuts because of the terrorist stuff...

Sorry I didn't respond to the thread--I usually look only at the recent posts and this one must have slipped by.

And Toninator-- I did reply to your PM... Didn't get it? Weird...
