The time has come to bury my twisted, dented, and bent K2 "learning" frame for a new one. I can order S&M through the shop I work at for cost+10% and I'm broke so that is my only choice. The geometry of my old bike is 21" tt/14.5"cs and I am 6' 175lbs and ride skateparks and street on it. A couple guys I work with ride NG Dirtbikes and swear by them. I have riden them a little and they feel nice but they don't run brakes like I do, so I couldn't quite try the same things. The NG Dirtbike is a bit shorter (20.25"tt/14"cs) than my current frame so I am wondering whether I should get the larger (21"tt/14.5"cs) NG Holmes. Which frame would fit my stubby-legged-long-torso 6 foot self? Will I regret buying the Dirtbike? Should I stick to what I am used to and go with the Holmes? Are there other S&M frames I should consider? Weight isn't a factor, strength and durability are. Thanks for reading through this lengthy question

I could always run the axle a little further back if the rear end is too short for my liking. The top tube length is nice though. I definately want shorter stays than now but don't want to give up much tt length. The bennett sounds like it will fit the bill perfectly, a nice compromise between the dirtbike and the holmes. With such a short rear end and so much tire clearance (which I like) will I have chainline issues with a 44 tooth? Thanks a lot D!

I rode at the local trails on Monday with the owner of S&M, Chris Molher. He is very cool and I support all of the frames he sells. About your situatiuon, the NG Holmes will fit just like your K2. If you are riding street and are tall, I would also suggest a S&M Bennet. It has a long top tube, but a 13.75" rear which is great for street. Hop this helps.

Have you looked at any Fit Bikes? They are made and distributed by S&M. I ride a series one and it is a really good frame. Mine is the 21" tt version.
Also, the shop I work at has a Holmes and a Dirtbike. We are selling both for $149.99us. I don't know if that would be cheaper than cost plus 10%. We are selling them at cost to get them out of the store.
If you have a credit card we would be willing to ship them anywhere in N. America.

They are both classics. It kind of sucks that we have to get rid of them. The shop I work at is run by hardcore christians. One day some guy emailed us about how much he was offended by S&M bikes and the image they present.
Frankly, I think he was just pissed that his kid was such a "screw up" reading Pusher and Dig magazines and wanting a bike named after a porn star.
Oh well, we will still carry solid, wethepeople, T1, macneill, volume, standard, and fbm, along with some possible others.

LOL, hardcore christians selling FBM stuff? I doubt they have ever seen the Albert Street video. They do produce some great product and Crandall seems like a good guy.

It's funny, people don't want to deal with some companies like S&M and Little Devil just for their name and image. Meanwhile they might be some of the best companies out there - good product, service, general atitude. On the flip side corporate giants (i.e. Emron) are held up high while they rape their workers, shareholders, clients, etc...

Yeah we have been "sneaking" the FBM stuff into the store so to speak. At this point we just wait for more e-mails to tells what to carry.
I really doubt that the higher ups have seen any BMX movies. It is better that way.
