My Craftworks has a Race Face Prodigy DH crankset with 22t / 32t / bash setup. The last ride, I dropped the chain twice, and am wondering if I should get a chain guide of some sort. The bike is setup as a burly trailbike, not for DH. Are there guides available besides the full-on DH stuff, and should I consider getting one?

The Heim 3 Guide is a light chain device that works with 2 or 3 ring setups.

the evil DRS work really good! it is not too heavy and if can take any dh abuse you can throw at it! it works really well when you run a 36t 22t combo for the chain rings. there is enough of a range for fling down a fire road and getting back up to the top again.

however, in the small ring, i have to stop & put it on the correct "roller", or it will make the most annoying sound. Is there a work around for this (i searched already & didn't find anything helpful).

I would 2nd the DRS. I talked to e13 about getting a DRS or an SRS for a bike that I wanted to be as versitile as possible- a do it all hard tail that could also race 4x. DRS was the resounding answer.
