Is it safe to ride with a normal Chris King NoThreadSet when your frame actually should have something like a Steelset (3x longer) to follow the warranty issue?
I'm asking 'cause this Steelset is pretty damn expensive.. I know Nicolai also has one, but it's ugly if you ask me, maybe others?
thanks!

If your frame will only be warrentied with a Steelset in it (which is weird in and of itself), buy a steelset. Yes, it's expensive, but it'll be worth it if you have to collect a warrenty, and it'll be the last headset you'll ever have to install on the bike.
If you're simply worried about getting a deep press headset, buy an FSA Pig or Pig Pro. They're both deep-insertion headsets (not as deep as a Steelset but a lot deeper than a normal CK), and a LOT cheaper than any Chris King headset.

Just ordered a Nicolai and they ask to install a deep insertion headset -which doesn't mean that you got to have the Steelset of Chris King of course.. just a headset that has about the same measurements as their Fett set. I'll look out for the FSA products!
cheers
