I was wondering if any one had any info on how i could increase spring tension in my rear derailler to keep it from slapping into my frame, i have an old piece of innertube wrapped around my frame there, its silenced it a little, but its still loud. HELP!!!please
try this: it's a piece of inner tube wrapped around a zip tie, which is tied around the derailleur...

specialized is actually sending out a little rubber bumper made specifically for that purpose with all of their mountain bikes...just got an adhesive backing and says to zip tie it down to keep it secure....cool that theyve picked up on the consumers need for it...

they dont cost anything. they come with all the bikes, just most mechanics have no idea what theyre for, and dont bother reading the little sheet of paper that comes with the bike in the box which says what its for...they usually just get thrown away...
just go and ask them about it...
its like a small adhesive curved square...with an indentation running with the curve down the middle (this is for the zip tie)...

i doubt theyd consider it important enough to send one out...
not worth the hassle anyway, when you can just make your own...just stop by the shop and see what they have for you...
heck, i might have one laying around id throw in the mail for oyu...
