did what was possibly my longest "race" yesterday. 58km marathon type event with a **** load of climbing, didn't really race it just rode at my own pace, because of the distance, and at this time of year (nearly winter here) riding time is getting less and less each week.

anyways, was a hell of a tough course, have to admit a couple of things;

1. I used my 22t chainring.......alot !
2. Got passed by a girl on a climb
3. Got passed by a girl on a decent
4. Pushed my bike.....a fair amount (really steep and worn out gravel roads with zero traction)

anyways 3h42 mins later made it home, didn't feel too bad afterwards as I was riding the route not racing it.

there were some big local names there as the prize money was big (R2000 for 1st man and women.....about $310)

Even Conrad Stoltz (World Xterra champ) was there.

Getting passed by chicks - sucks but the older you get the more you have to get used to it. :p
