how do i remove a 1 inch threaded head set from a 11 year old road bike? thanks

1--Loosen bolt on top of stem.

2--whack it with a hammer.

3--Remove stem.

4--Get big ass wrench and loosen and remove lock nut on head set.

5--Also with big ass wrench, loosen and remove top cup on head set.

6--Take fork out of head tube, watch for bearings

7--Buy six pack, take to LBS with frame and fork, and ask them to remove races and fixed cup.
