IF I am flying up for the National, what airport is the best one to arrive at? I guess I'd rent a car and drive to the race then.

oakland would be the closest airport...I think.

It's a toss up between Oakland or SF as far as total distance, but the route from Oakland will probably have less traffic over all.

From Oakland airport -

Hegenberger road to
Hwy 880 north to
Hwy 80 east (this is actually north through Oakland/Berkeley) to
Hwy 580 west to
Richmond/San Rafael bridge west to
Hwy 101 north to
Where ever you're going in Sonoma

in general from what i've seen ticket prices to fly into/out of oakland are less than SF.

For getting to the race directly from an airport, Oakland is by far the best airport to arrive at.
