I wanted to do another national this summer, but with nothing available in July, I thought about hitting one of the Mtn. States Cups. Which one would be better? I will be driving from East Tennessee and I like steep, technical courses. Maybe that's an east coast thing, but which is better worth the drive?

You need to do both. There is no way to choose one or the other. Both have sick courses. Snowmass has mountain cross where telluride doesn't. Telluride is a longer drive by about 2.5 hours.

You will probably like the dirt better in Telluride, it is more like the dirt you see on the east. Snowmas is going to be really cool this year, but it is a bit dry and dusty.

I dunno, Telluride was uubbbeer dry when I raced the WC course a few years ago....I think the dirt is actually BETTER at snowmass

Both races should be KILLER... hard to decide and I don't envy you for having too... I'd say Snowmass though, due to the additional event of 4X.

the old telluride track was FLAT. if they go down the other side of the mountain, then it'd be gnar.

i vote snowmass...more in the immediate area to do.
