As of today, 20 Euros = $32.75 Canadian.
Your visit may not be as expensive as you think, and the exchange rate will most likely improve (in your favor) by August.

The shoestring is not a bad place to stay we have been staying there for the last two years. Plus they have strippers on the weekdays I believe wed. and thurs. night just don't bring the wife to this place it is kind of a dive.

There is also the creekside hostel. I believe it is cheaper than the boot. Another option is camping.
Also check out walk-in rates. You can sometimes find places cheap just by walking in. Especially at some of the cheaper hotels. Right now walk in rate at the Westin is 99$ for example (its one of the most expensive hotels so that gives you an idea of how cheap). At the cheap hotels I am sure you can find cheap (in the marketplace I saw one of the hotels with a walkin rate of 39$ a night)

My girlfriend an I hit up that strip joint this winter. She loved it, but most of the girls looked aweful skanky.

Yeah unfortunately they are. It is not a good strip club to see pretty girls.
Locals night is usually a treat though. :)
