I have a 2002 Giant NRS3 that needs the BB replaced due to creaking when under pressure. (IE climbing) I am trying to figure out what size the BB is, so I can order a replacement. This will be the first BB that I have changed, and it doesn't look to be very difficult. Is the size stamped on the one on the bike currently? All the local Giant dealer was able to give me is it's a 68 mm sealed cart. Should I order a 68 x 113?

The bottom bracket width has to do with what cranks you're running. The shell size is determined from tyhe frame. If you have a square spindle - you can always just remove the crank arms and measure end to end to see what legnth you have. But I'm guessing you're in the right neighborhood with the 68x113

More than likely it is 68X113 but what cranks are you running?

Wow. I gave up on this thread, as no one replied to it in 10 days. I guess everyone is right, you have to post in the lounge to get replies. :p
Seriously, thanks for the replies. :)

It's a POS Shimano M440 square taper / 175mm that came with the bike. It's one of those cheap ones where if the big ring needs to be replaced, you have to replace the crank arm also. I found someone who just swapped out the BB on the same year, same setup who said it was indeed a 68 x 113.
