I'll be there with trailhacker on Saturday doing the xc race.
I'm going to bring both bikes so after I walk the course I might get some balls and race the DH too.

I'll be there but the WSU group won't be as big this race as last, something about college costing a lot (I don't know what they're talking about)

Yeah, I'll be there, albeit sandbagging in the Sport class. I think it'll be my only NORBA race this year, and it's just not worth the $$ for the annual license to race Expert once. Unethical, maybe, but to compensate, I've been working hard at not riding my bike. Should be about right.
I'll be there too.
Hey DHRacer - how's the collarbone? When do you think you can ride again? See ya at Beacon.

You don't have to buy an annual lisence to race expert this year. But if you want your points to count towards the final...you do.

Hey Five, it's okay... it's still sore at times, especially in the mornings. and there's this funky pain in my Trazepius muscle that runs down behind my shoulder into the Deltoid:( i go back to the docs on the 26th for more xrays and if everything looks okay, talk about PT. i still have a couple of tennisball size numb spots on my spine, no feeling there at all. and overall the muscles of my back and ribs are still a little sore sore. They told me that my back would take the longest to heal... i didn't believe them at first, but i'm a believer now! hahaha.
as for riding/racing... i'm shooting for Chelan at the earliest... but realistically, i'm thinking probably more liek Squilchuck. :(

I'll talk to them at registration. I just don't want to pay an extra $50 for one race. Open class may work too (I can take an ass kicking!)

This is from the round and round site....
"If you are a PRO or EXPERT or wish to contend for the regional, state or national championships you must have an annual license.? Annual licenses are $50 for adults and $35 for juniors 18 and under.? All WIM registration fees are an additional $5 for riders not holding an annual NORBA license."
Sooo, yeah, it looks like you'll need a full lisence to race expert. I think that goes against NORBAs policy, bit not sure. More research :-)

Nope, R&R is correct. If you race Expert or Pro you have to have a annual license...no one days for Expert and above.

unless you have a 20 year old huffy 10 speed, DUI style, you are fine. if that's the setup, maybe go around the big splats.
that said, what do you have?

i have a Specialized FSR Extreme, w/ a Judy fork
what are the levels to enter in?
like is rec sport pro?
add a helmet and you are set.
for the cats, they break down like this. man-woman, beginner-sport-expert-pro, 18 and under-19to29 - 30to39 - 40to49 - 50+. then there is Open, and HT.
just go out, pick the sex you like, your age and beg or sport. you will have a good time.

my first bike that I raced DH on was a 98 FSR Extreme with a Judy... ahhh, those were the days.
you'll do great with that, there are directions on the link that Chainwhip posted. it's really easy to find. I'll be the one with his arm in a sling taking pictures this weekend, if you see me, say hi. :thumb:

Leaving afterwork (Woodinville) at around 5:30....stopping itn Moses Lake to hang with a old college buddy and stay the night...then cruise on in Sat morning.
It is nice to have freinds along the way. I have them situated in Ellensburg and Moses Lake now. :D makes that 4.5 hr drive easy if you stop mid way....and catch up with friends.

I remeber the Nishiki Alien with 2" of travel, paired with a 3" rock shox DH Judy, was state of the art DH technology.
We used to go to Skibowl and race XC, DS, and DH in a weekend.....and only bring 1 bike!!!
