Uzzi SLX Question?

I have been told conflicting explanations with regards to setting an Uzzi SLX to the 7" travel mode. Can anyone set me straight?

Don't you just flip the link front to back?

I know changing the travel is switching the link plates around, flat side in and always have them pointing down (the flat edge on top). But what I don't know for sure is that the 3 bolt holes are not centered on the link plates horizontally. So if I want the 7" travel setting should the bolt holes be closer the seat mast or farther from the seat mast. No one has been able to tell me the same story, my LBS is worthless in terms of knowledge.
