FATKID BUILD!

I'm shootin for 34-35ish

frame as you see (med.)....

-Singletracks
'-04 Firefly
-Race Face North Shores
-Gigapipe b.b.
-King headset
-Thomson post
-diablous stem (got a 50 but I believe I"ll need a 70 to be comfortable at all on climbs)
-Easton EA70 OS Bar
-highroller 2.5front/2.35rear
-E13 DRS 22/36
-Hayes Mag hfx9's
nothin fancy shifting just the reg. xt stuff....

got a set of flat pedals as well as a set of time and good old sidi dom 4's awaitin' haven't used them in a year...... can't wait to hit the trails!

most of the parts I already had, so I just used what I had, some are a little bit overkill but I shouldn't have to worry about much breaking. I'm Stoaked!!!!!

what's with all the cheapo parts? :D

I just got the OS diablous/EA70 combo. 50mm stem length. Stiiifffff. I didn't know if I'd even notice, but man do I. I also thought it'd be a bit harder to climb with 50mm length vs. my old 70mm stem, but the bars are wide and seem me get more leverage on the steeper stuff.

Wow, love that blue. My last three bikes have been blue. PC right? Looks like it has a chrome base layer like Ventana uses (pic from hammerhead bikes):

yeah powder it is! Trans Blue! I believe Santa Cruz if I'm not mistaken uses Silver vs. Chrome underneath there trans colors. I had my endless custom painted trans blue with a chrome base, and it seems a hair lighter and seems to refelct light more.....

I like the deeper blue of the Heckler.

nope I've only seen your DHR that's it and it's RED! :D

I'm pretty sure the Sherman is comin off the bike though,

it's far too linear for me, the fork can be set up to be small bump compliant or big hit resistant (either or, not both), there really isn't a happy medium at all..... the fork either bottoms harshly or doesn't take small hits at all......

the rebound adjustment does not dampen the fork enough either, it still feels like a pogo stick w/ the rebound adjusted as much as possible..

I feel if I were sub 200lbs that this fork would be very tuneable... and work out just fine for me...... but that's not the case

back to a zocchi I go...

Have you played with the springs/oil weight?

If so it sounds like a z150 is in order

I was thinking of a manitou, but maybe I'll go for a dj3 or a vanillaR

Castle
05-04-2004, 09:53 PM
the springs: xtra heavies

the oil weight : it's not a open bath like a zocchi, the spring is just greased the other leg is air, the only oil there is, is in the rebound, and from my understanding going to a 7.5wt gives your fork a THUNK, not quite my idea of how I want my fork to feel.....

I just turned my progressino adjuster up as far as it'll go I'll give it a go like it is..... see how this works out.....

I have def. considered the z.150..... but I"d probably just end up on a z.1 since I also have a bigger bike.....

Ummm, yah, you definitely need to do that. It makes a big differance for me. This should solve your problem.

Or you could sell me the Sherman and run back to your Z1 you 'zocchi head.

Seriously though, I call first dibs on the Sherman if it goes up on the block. I'd rather have black lowers but c'est la vie right.

You gonna actually make it to nationals this year?

SpasticJack

the 10th thru the 13th is the full jammy with races on saturday and sunday. If nothing else its a good opportunity to get your stuff tuned and worked on with the fastest turnaround possible.
