the 85-09 president of peru, whose government, and economic policy caused a 2 000 000% inflation rate over 5 years, who was convicted of corruption, and sentenced. who lived in exile in paris for 11 years, is now, according to recent polls, the first choice for president, even without launching an official campaign.

alberto fujimori, 90-91, whose inconstitutional reelection, a japanese who forged papers to get a peruvian citizenship to run for president, who was conviceted of rape, as a college professor, whose asesor was caught on tape bribing congressman, who is look upon by the interpol now for genocide charges, and accused of stealing a few hundred million bucks, is nowadays, acordding to recent polls, a strong candidate for presidency (if he could get back to peru without being arrested, lol!!)

and there sooooooooo many, that i would get tired writting about them.


moral of the story? in poor countries, as long as you have a very charitable welfare program, and give 30% of the budget in social crap, you are gonna be loved forever. does not matter if you kill a few thousands, or steal a few hundred millions in meanwhile.
most people just care about having a full stomach by the time they go to bed.
