I could have sworn I saw a posting yesterday asking if terrorism ever achieved it's aims (I know I did).
Where'd those posts go? What happened to that part of the thread?

There was a minor side debate about whether any terrorist groups had ever achieved their aims. I was going to reply to a mention of the IRA.
Arguably they have delayed their aims, after all the UK is not really colonial anymore, and even Wales have their own elected parliament (albeit with limited power) and Scotland have had a referendum on independence.
Perhaps without the IRA (and loyalist paramilitary terror groups) Ireland would have pregressed further than it has.
