I can't find the sherman dj on manitou's site. Is it an OEM or special order item or are u just referring to the firefly (which I have and is awesome for dirt jumping if set at 4 inches)?
The Sherman DJ is a 2004.5product, you can easily find info by doing a little search.
It is a sherman, set from the factory at 3", available only thru-axle in either onepoint five or 1 1/8 ...
Even more plush and sex factor than your sherman ;)

But for dj you don't want really stiff suspension if any at all. Why so plush:confused: ??? (I would crash way too much with the headangle of a 3 inch fork on my bike);)
Because Manitou figured ther might be a market (amongst ectreme hardcore hardtailers) for a lowered version of the Sherman ... for geometry and strength thing ....
I could see that kind of beast on my specialist ;)
would be a nice change coming from the Judy ...

the sherman is special order only, ive got one of a small few so far but theyre only special order.
you would want a really stiff fork for dirtjumping because it soaks up big impacts for the times we arent so smooth, dirtjumping isnt a steady succession of small hits, it is just single, big hits.
im working on pics, gotta borrow my boss's digi cam

I was just thinking that you should put one on the specialist. How much travel does that judy have? If I were you, I would get the firefly cuz of the versatility (especially if your judy has 4 inches of travel). C'mon, you know you want the firefly instead. Just look at it :D . Actually, that jumper sounds like a cool idea.
Do I smell a
"Who sh!t, the DJ would have been so much better for my bike (ie. it's got a 24" wheels geometry in mind and all), and who, I'd love to sell the Firefly and get the Dj :D"
... OK, I'll trade my Judy Race for your firefly ;)
Now back to Shakespeare

I'd take that deal!! A nice broken in judy for a p.o.s. Sherman. You would be outta your mind not to jump on that deal:D :D

I would have guessed at least 450mm based on the other Shermans.
It's now listed on Manitou's site.

Well it's not that much longer at all cuz I ride it in the 3.9 inch mode all the time and it's substantially shorter than in the pic.

yeah I heard those forks are sweet but they wont work for weak, small, slow riders, so you may want to look into somthing else morgan, like a SID sl. Those are really good for dirt jumping, almost as good as the marzocchi X-fly:(

man I forgot about that, at least you were light when you were riding that. I jumped on the X-fly weighing like 170 pounds, that was just foolish.
