they are 380mm i think... or 385- something in there. basically a hair over 15" even.

ever see that SNL fake commercial for the mach 12 razor or whatever. like the first three blades gave you a close shave then the other 9 like skinned you down to raw flesh to give you the ultimate in close shaves... hilarious. :D

big thanks to elan for having parkinsons or something and not holding my camera steady enough to take a non-glaucoma looking ass picture. this is vincent hermance riding one of the most gnar-sicky poo spots i have found in colorado. you have to climb up about 25 feet above the road to even get to it. every other rock moves, they are all covered in loose lichen and moss, they are all sharp, its full of spiders (giant ones, they might eat birds, i dont know) and to top that all off, there are goofy red haired asian poparazzi kids that spring up from behind rocks and point dinner plate sized fisheye lenses at you. vincent hermance is so much of a pimp that none of this gets to him. he didnt like the rain though, said it made everything slippery. i ate crap tryign to walk around following him.

ok so im trying this drop down about 4 feet and out about 8 or 9 to an angled rail. im all prepped and ready to boogey-oogey when all of the sudden, advil laveen floats up and getz all emo at me talking about how i never call anymore (even though i call like 5 times a day but she doesnt answer- sheesh!) and how i dont listen to her (or something, i wasnt paying attention). so this crazy advil cutout starts shooting at me! her right eye fires a pink lazor of emotion at my front tire and since it's a mitchel-in hot-$ the thing pinches in like point two seconds flat (pun intended) and then because she is so hardcore punk, her left eye turbo blasts my rear tire with a pink up-side-down cross but luckily it's a maxxi$ mini-onion and the **** totally just bounces off it- no harm done. mean while my braaaahhhhs (say it like you're a moron and the only language you speak is bro-cal) mister S (spomer-delux) and josh (to the max squared) are like "hey, we are in the middle of a shoot here... cant you read?" but she went through some crappy canadian homeschool program which is a lot worse than a good candian homeschool program so it turns out she cant read. bummer. so shaun fires this curvey red lazser at her right hooter, destroys the kleenex stuffed in there and shawn is so surprised at the power of his zony VX that he crap-shaites right there, somehow through his pants but somehow-er without getting them soiled... shauwn has skillz. josh on the ground there pops out of the sidehatch (is there any other place to pop out of really? that doesnt suck? didnt think so) and totally blasts advil's neck tie with his green lasur which has the power to untie crap real fast, like way faster than a guy with three hands could. her hastily tied windsor knot doesnt stand a chance and before she can block the attack her pink tie is blown away. with her image (the stupid tie) totally gone, she retreats in defeat but no one recognizes her (tie-less) and she writes a really crappy sophomore album about crappy relationships (dont tell her) and worse, being lonely (hey, how does that feel?) but she lost her favorite tie (she will never wear another one after losing that lovely pink one- way to go josh!) and had to work really hard with make up people to get a new image... meanwhile back at the post/rtd staion in denver, i nailed the move, spoon-love got the video (see match 5- now with more abubacas than evar!) and josh got the photo (which was uber cool looking) and most of us lived pretty satisfied ever after.

so ive been in arkansas of all places for a while at this trials type comp. this was a section 7- pro only line. this roll in was nothing scary to ride but to look at it put the pee in my trousers. it looks like a 7 foot drop in that should have been done on a nice squishy bike, only thing is we had to roll in and crank it over to the left on a loose off camber, mossy, poop-o-liscious roll in and then set up for the most intimidating move of the comp. pic of that tomorrow.

best ride in a long time for me. even though i only did like three things worht mentioning: hook 4 feet to rear uci clean (no pedal/bash/crank touching), huge gap to nose (out like 6 feet and up like 2.5-3 feet up) and rode a 1" handrail outside of ferrand for like 15 feet (and it was upward slopping- gnar squared braaaah.... pfft). and i didnt even get the rail on tape.

Loft your beds! It made a huganitc difference in our room and now we've got room for my two bikes, the roomate's bike, all my gear, all my other bike crapola, and a couch! - we put bikes under one bed, and a desk under the other, and on top of that we have the smallest room setup that mines offers, so it should work well for you too... Buy some wood, and get to building!

oh yeah- forgot to finish my thought. "That Movie" is going to be my next stupid bike flick. it will be the most artsy joke you have ever seen (for example, im hyping it up and i havent even started filming for it yet...). it will have gnar ass local riders doing gnar ass local stuff (camp and heffe, i need to get out filming with you guys for this). im calling it That Movie so that it will feel more natural when people talk about it (which will undoubtedly happen- a lot).... i can hear it now... "hey braaah, have you seen That Movie yet?"...."no dude, but i have heard good things about That Movie".... "yo That Movie was sicker than a hospital, i bet the director makes millions off its sales and then loses it all cus he didnt get rights to the effin killah soundtrack".... "hello? local bike shop? do you have any copies of That Movie in stock?"

yeah. the sequel due out in early 2008 will be called 'who's on first.' get it? see artsy but a total joke. kinda like the rest of my life.

i guess this movie is as much a learnign experience as the first one... im playing around with lots of ideas and i honestly have no idea how they will turn out but i want this movie to be unique. i dont want to follow the formulae of other videos where an hour after you see it, you already confise it for a half dozen other flicks. but yeah... next time you guys feel like tearing the bmx track a new one or hitting up some dirt yummping, let me know. i would like to do many many filming sessions with you guys over the off season and toy around with some concepts.

i dont mean to talk deliberate smack about other people's movies because i honestly have no room to speak... BUT- if you showed say... new world disorder 1-4 in a row to someone who doesnt bike they wouldnt know where one ended and the next started. they are all the same movie with a little bit more 'progressive' riding in each one. someone flips a little bigger, someone drops a little larger... otherwise the only thing that separates them in my mind is the number on the cover.

im getting pretty tired of seeing amazing bmx and skate films and seeing the same boring cookie cutter movies being cranked out of the bike world. i dont expect to revolutionize the industry or anything but i wouldnt mind playing around with ideas of my own so that i can have an entertaining bike film for myself to watch from time to time. there are rare exceptions- i think Earthed is rad because its race footage and racing owns the nuts off brainless hucking. i also liked the collective as it was pretty artsy compared to what else is out there- i dont know if i would say it lives up to all the hype but it does better than every other hyped up movie else in the last 4 years. i would like above anything else to push myself with this flick in creativity both behind and in front of the lens.

Whats goin on man. Congrats on 8th place at mammoth. I had surgery to get pins in my finger on monday, so needless to say mammoth was out of the question for me. I was hoping to be able to ride again by this weekend, then when I went in for the follow up appointment I find out im supposed ot have a hard cast for 4 weeks, which blows my nuts. The way the cast is now I cant hold on at all, not even enough to ride my XC bike. So anyway, this brings me to my point, my azonic body armor is still in the rpm trailer. I was planning on getting it when I went down to darner's for the Mine's race there, but as I will now not be going i was wondering if you could grab it for me next time you see the trailer(final descent?) If the trailers not there, its not that big of a deal. I actually just bought a dainese(before I found out my season was over), but I told a friend he could have the azonic. Thanks alot. Let me know if theres going to be digging goign on at arbor this wekend and I'll be there.

what a day in durango...first start with a beautiful mountain vista, then for some dh runs, a last place qualifier(on purpose of course), then 10 seconds into race run, a broken hand, then quick hospital visit, and a 6 hour drive home. he hee!

Yeah, mine was lame, unfortunately being a lame injury isnt making it heal any faster. Im now determined to get back for nationals, Ive been been running, spinning, working out like a fool to get back into shape.

Kevin, Red bull is having a photo contest to give out press passes for rampage, then another for the pictures taken there, winner gets published. So If you wanna go watch people huck themselves, you might check it out.

Looks like I'll be out of commission as well for a while. I broke my right index finger this w/e in fruita. small fall, but going over the handlebars of a 7 inch fork and then landing on rocks can hurt. I'll be filming / taking pictures / drinking beer at the group rides for the next month.
