Boxxer Race convertion?

I´ve bought twisted 2002 Boxxer and I´m building 2003 boxxer race with -02´s internals.. Has anyone done this before, I heard that dimensions might differ between them?

Are the stachions diameters the same inside? both should be the same outside..?

hopefully someone could answer this before next weekend when I start smashing things together :)

I'm pretty sure that Jm_ put an '02 compression cart in his '03 Race, to replace the dummy cart that's in there. It fit with a little jimmying. I don't think it helped much though, he still hated it......

Not sure, but I think Jm_'s problem was that he was using an '01 cartridge which is designed to fit in the tapered stanchions of the '01s and '00s. The 02s are straightwall, just like the '03s, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, there is a little work that needs to be done with the nut at the bottom if your Race has the newer bossless lowers, but I don't think it's that tough.

ohio-> Yes, that is what I´ve heard also.. those old model boxxer internals will not fit without some machining.

I don´t remember if there was any difference between my race and that -02 lowers.. What I remember those should be the same?! hopefully ;)

Race has thicker (heavier) tubes.. So -02 internals are not compatible :( :(
