I recently put a new BB and crank (LX splined) on my HT. The rotation never felt very smooth (I can sense something fishy when I hammer on the pedals) and it got loose after 2 weeks and started creaking. I retorque the crank arms and then it got loose again.
Could I have installed the BB and/or crank wrong. I will take it apart tonight, what should I watch for?

We figured out last time that you have the newest LX cranks and BB right? These have a deeper insertion than the old ones and the XT before the splines engage, so it make be possible for you to have chewed up the splines in the crank arm during the install (kind of like the old XTR)... so I'd have a look at those (you might need a flashlight or headlamp to see down in there).
The only other thing I can think of is to check the pedals. Sometimes blown bearings in the pedals can feel like it's coming from the cranks.
