I need a chain tensioner that bolts on to the chainstay. The Derraileur mount thingie on my SS is stripped, but i still have a bit of chain slack (vert dropouts). I remember seeing ads for ones made by KORE in every magazine but they seem to have disappeared. Does such a thing still exist and if so, who produces it?

i've seen people use an mrp roller and a few zip ties, neverheard of any problems with that.

there is a magical mystical device called a "helicoil" that comes in a kit with an installation tool and a specific tap that can be purchased to repair that thread...

fix the dropout, don't **** around with crap off the chainstay. Unless the point is a real "ghetto" look

I had no luck with the Kore tenisoner. It seems that the chainstay needs to be a very specific shape for the clamp not to move all over the place, even with a bit of an old tube under it for grip. I'd look into getting the hanger re-tapped or get one of the White Industries Eccentric ENO hubs.
