Ok I have a question. I have been noticing some pain after and during the final stages of my rides. This pain is only on my left knee. It is on the inner side, just under the knee cap.
If my cleats on my shoes are not in the right postiton, which way should I move them to ease the strain on that portion of the knee?
Or, is it tendonitis?

My first guess would have been from the pedals - but as to which way to turn them - SHRUG!
I wouldn't turn them just yet - I'd start by loosening the tension - then if that doesn't do it, try turning the cleat - but VERY LITTLE.

Well they are TIME Atacs so there is no tension to turn! :)

Well next time we get together let me take a look at your cleat position.
My personal experience with knee pain is that it was caused by a lack of stretching my quads. Stretching is essential.

only after you are warmed up - don't stretch cold muscles!

Hmm..I usually strectch before every ride. I thought my knee was ok today, but as the day has gone on its been hurting more. I think its tendonitis. I have started to get it as I get older..:(

Servus!
Skweek, you might try twiddling with your saddle position. I have had that sort of pain in the past and found that my saddle was a skosh too low - just right for my right leg, but not for my left. Remember, your legs are NOT the same length and something this insignificant may have a large effect on your knees. Give it a shot - what have you got to lose.
BTW - I have chronic knee troubles from the Army forcing me to run and find that my Time ATAC pedals are like a gift from God in regards to helping with knee pain.

Which way do your knees point when you are seated on your bike? Straight ahead, outwards(away from your frame), or inward(towards your frame)?
If they point inward, that may explain the pain.
There are many other possibilities, give more info, and go to a specialist anyway.

Knees are my line of work. If the pain is under the patella (kneecap), it could be due to a patello-femoral tracking fault or just overuse. If you've just increased your miles a lot, that could be enough. If you've just changed seat or cleat position, start there. If you haven't changed anything, that's odd. Any history of injury? If the area around the kneecap gets a bit boggy and you get pain on kneeling or pressing on the kneecap, you've got some inflammation. Ice, stretch quads, ice, stretch hams, ice, a little POST-ride ibuprofen, and relatively rest it a bit (ride easier). Oh, and ice. Spin a smaller gear, be like Lance, but no hill mashing for a couple of weeks. Keep the knee warm while riding; cold synovial fluid in a joint is like cold oil in your engine. If it doesn't respond, go see a good sports physio for an assessment; you may have a VMO (inner quad) strengthening program in your near future. A very last resort would be arthroscopic surgery. All serious cyclists have occasional knee pain; I go through it every spring for a week or two. Good luck.

Back when I first startd using clipless, my right knee hurt on the inside and under the cap (patella doc?). I found that I was favoring the left knee after injury to it. I had fallen on both knees while skating and had traumatic bursitis (as my doc called it). The left was worse so I favored it and pushed the right to match. Funny thing is the bursitis never hurt whil riding, just walking so I thought it was cool. After checking your ergos on the bike and your own positioning, I would get a check out from the doctor. A prescription for Naproxsyn and 2 weeks later I was on my way! Good Luck.

you know what´s annoying?
Osgood Schlaetter...I have this on my knees since I´m 12. It still hurts nowadays.
The first one who discovers what that is becomes a prize(except doc).
