Hey ya'll. I'm gonna introduce myself now. I'm a recent college graduate who is finally finding time to get back into biking after a long hiatus. I'm moving up to Massachusetts and am hoping to start riding XC in a serious way. I've been a longtime member over at MacAddict.com and ran across this site in a thread. I've been lurking here for a bit, and can't wait to avail myself of all the experience and expertise of you guys!
First question: Anybody know of good trails in western MA?

I do!
Here's a link to maps for the State Parks which is where a lot of the well known stuff is. http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/trails.htm
Pittsfield SF, Mt Greylock SF, October Mtn, Dubuque SF and Savoy SF are some of the best that allow biking. Once you know the area a bit, you can go off on epic explorations to somewhere like Mt Toby in Sunderland.
