I'm looking to upgrade my steel hardtail with a better fork.
Presently, I have a Manitou 6. It's relatively light, and rigid, but not too smooth or plush.
What does Fox or Marzocchi offer that is light, rigid, easily tunable, and smooth?
It gots to be lighter than the 6 and torsionally stiff.
Thanks,
Lenny

There's really not much on the market that's lighter than your 6. In the years since that fork was made, most companies and people have decided a touch of extra weight is worth it for more travel, improved reliability, and MUCH improved stiffness.

The fox float and marzocchi marathon are both excellent forks, with FAR superior travel quality and stiffness compared to your Six, but they also weigh more.

Thanks Ohio.
I guess the question then becomes, "do I really need a new fork?"
Ever since I replaced the damping ctg under warranty, the fork has been great.
It's definitely more supple than before the ctg blew, but not like some of the Fox's and Zokes I've felt.
I guess I'm really a weight weenie, so I'll just hang onto the 6.
