Cable crunches. I've been doing four sets to failure, pin set at 14, two or three times a week. I am trying to build up my abs (I don't have any fat around my waist to burn).

So I can get greater range, I have been kneeing on an aerobic step. Man, talk about a burn in the midsection!

1) What's with the guy? He looks naked
2) What is the "Target Rectus Abdominis"
you should also try doing standing ab pulldowns, it has great carryover for sports, since we rarely do any sports on our knees or on the ground
another one i just started doing and seems to be working is spread eagle situps, sit insinde a squat rack, and hook you feet around the outside post, perform a situp, having your feet out so wide really makes it challenging, you should give it a try

Well I am all for abs and such but that excercise looks like certain back pain in the future - you have to be real careful letting the weights back down...
So IRB - are you planning on trying out for Dog Eat Dog or Fear Factor ??? :D

Forgot to say - sprints on your spanking new road bike or running up hills with a back pack will do the same thing and you won't be stuck in a gym.

I've been doing them for a month now. Zero back pain. All the work is in the abs. Using an ab wheel used to put a serious pain in my back, so I stopped using it.

:p Not yet.
I am trying to build my abs...it's a work in progress. My stomach is flat right now but not very defined (my abs are visible only when I flex them).
