are beet leaves bad for you?

I am making juice and have a nice beet that has some tastey looking leaves. can i juice them up?

i have the beets in front of me. the pills you speak of are not....

I'll stick with BLTs... I would think beet greens would be as bitter as Martha Stewart's sweet spot. :D :eek: :D

I don't think these leaves are good for you.

at least not in the way I tried to digest them.

I used a small handfull of leaves, a beet, some carrots, 2 cloves of garlic and a small piece of ginger to make some juice.

I was able to drink about 1/4 of it before I felt like I was going to throw up. then, as I stood next to the sink waiting to hurl, I felt my head get really hot. and I started to feel funny.

I made a simalar juice the day before minus the beet leaves and didn't feel bad after drinking it.
