I was at my LBS (2nd time this week... :D) looking for a good price for some new pedals. My initial thought was another set of 959 - I had smahed a pair last year and replaced them with 545 caged since they were like $60.00 less than the ones a busted up. The price still seemed high to me so I was looking for alternatives.

I have always wanted to try Time Atacs and looked at the carbons. They weigh 396 grams for the pair and would cost about $100.00, next up was the Titan Carbons at 352 grams and $150.00 a pair...

I just about gave up - there is nothing wrong with my current pedals, I just have new bike build syndrome. Just when my wallet was about to snap shut my trusty LBS guy produces a pair of out of the box but never used 2 year old Aliums for $40.00. Everything is there except the box. These weigh 425 grams and... now they are mine. :) :p :) :p

Now all I need a sweet deal on a black Thomson seat post and stem...

Good deal. I'm surprised you aren't already a Time convert with the conditions you ride in.
