I am looking for info to do a 2 or 3 week mtbike vacation throught the alps crossing many countries.

You might be ok with the weather (i had a snowball fight in July and 90 degrees in September in the French Alps), but a lot of places shut down by mid September to prep for the ski season so no lifts and a lot of shops and bars close up.

Just a thought if you're planning on going that late.
