can flipping the link over give you 7.5 inches travel?

I don't think so and I am reasonably sure that would produce some very undesireable geometry. Could be wrong but I don't think so. I'm on my second Big Hit 01 and 02 frames and I can't see this as being a good thing to do. :nono:
i thought on the big hit comp and maybe expert you can increase the travel by flipping the link, but on the DH it already has 8 inches of rear wheel travel. im not too sure, i just remember my friend is thinking about getting one and said something about flipping the link and increasing the travel. id check the website.

The comp link allows for 5.5 to 6.3 inches of travel plus HA/BB geometry changes. Flipping the link could only succeed in making the HA steeper and the BB higher without a significant travel increase. A better bet if you want the additional travel is to put the 01-02 DH link on with an 8.75" eye to eye 2.75" stroke shock. This will allow approx. 6.8" to 8.1" of available travel. The 6.8" position coupled with a 5" to 7" travel fork is very versital as a trail/freerider. Put a Jr T or Super T on the front and you are one bolt and about a minute's time between a decent DH and trail/freeride setup.
