my cleats got stuck in my pedals

how should i go about getting them out. one of the screws on each cleat got stuck. should i pry open the pedals with a hex wrench or a screwdriver or is there an easier way?

Try to turn the shoe while pulling all the way up on it to unscrew the second cleat screw out, then use a little flathead screwdriver to pry the cleat out. proceed to take the pedals off and deliver them to their rightful owner (me) for your parts that are being held hostage. :D
