What's a decent DJ bike for around 200-300 new or used. I won't be able to afford an mtb for a while so I'd figure I mess around at the local bmx track and jumps.
You're in luck cuz BMX bikes are really cheap compared to MTB's.
You can get a nice DK, Hoffman, Mosh, etc for around 300.
For that price you should be getting into 3 peice cranks, full cro-mo frame, decent wheels, some sealed bearings, etc.
Any questions about a specific bike feel free to PM me :)

also name brands like haro, specialized, etc. make pretty good bikes for around those prices. so don't count them out.
remember 14mm axels and 3peice cranks are the way to go.
if your just planning on learning to jump you won't need 14mm axles. but do get 3 piece cranks.
your in the heart of bmx country so I'd look for a used bike. there must be about a bazzilion bmx bikes in southern cali.

i've been jumping a bit on my Planet X. but the feel of bmx might take a while to get used too....heh, come to think of it, the last bmx bike i owned was when i was 7, and that thing was red and heavy as ****. sweet vinyl blue seat though :)
sweet....so for 300, i should get 3 pc cranks, and some decent wheels eh?
what are decent wheels?

Hey bro,
A good 4130 frame and 3-pc cranks are a good starter. I would worry about investing in pricey wheels cause your goin' go through a couple of sets.

14mm axels are pretty much standard on bikes with 3-pc cranks it seems.. and if you plan on having pegs they are the only real option
my fueler is about 7 years old and with my pegs the axels are bent. though my wheels are true still. anyways just shop around and see whats available for cheap..
