fork problem

Yesterday i lifted up a boot on my Rock shox Dho and found a graphite like substence all over the inner stanchion. The fork seems to be working pretty good. Any ideas what this could be?
is it safe to go to plattekill this weekend? thanks

sounds like this is just bushing/seal wear, it sort of grinds off slowly and leaves a powdery substance on the sliders......its just tiny shavings of rubber/plastic from friction on your seals/bushings which just show that they will eventually need replacing as they DO wear out. however, i may be wrong, your LBS should know tho. and if i am right (haven't been wrong yet.... that anyone has survived :D) then it is perfectly safe to ride on.
