I have a marzocchi EXR air fork that came on a 2002 Giant Rainier.

I'm doing some maintenance on it and need to know what kind of oil is used in the internals. I manual says 7.5 wt is what they use but it does not say what kind to use. I assume that this is not automotive petroleum oil that they are using. I suppose it could be mineral oil since I know that some hydraulic disc brakes use mineral oil.

Some monkey please answer these questions

1. what kind/brand of oil do I use?
2. how much do I need to use in the fork?
3. Will any LBS carry this oil?
4. Anything else I should do while the fork is open?

Use Golden Spectro 7.5wt synthetic oil. Best place to find it is a local motorcycle shop (it's motorcycle fork oil). It's the same oil Marzocchi uses, but much cheaper (about 1/2) than buying it in Marzocchi labeled bottles. Most bike shops won't have it.
