Can it be done? I'm building up a new urban bike, and would love to throw on some peg standers on the non-drive side. How would I go about it??
I heard I should check out the new MBA, but I haven't gotten there yet.
Anyone done this?
If you've got a shimano hub, you can just swap the hollow axle 135mm with a solid 150mm axle (or longer). You're LBS can help you match up the right diameter and thread pitch. Since they use cup and cone bearings instead of cartridge, it's super easy.
Then you can bolt on a peg just lke any BMXer.
Keep in mind your dropouts probably can't handle the torque though, unless your on a really burly hardtail.

Its a steel frame w/ a non-replaceble hanger....cheap as $hit too! (FreeAgent from Jenson for $95!) So if it goes...
