I broke the shifters on my old Trek 820 and i want to get them replaced. I would like some opinions on some decent shifters for under $65. I was looking at the Deore LX series shifer/brake levers. are they any good? :stupid:

They're probably fine, but for buttery smooth shift I recommend going to the XT's I've got them and they are great. Huge difference over the Deore's on my gf's bike. Worth the bills too.

For a trek 820, LX will tr5eat you just fine.
Just make sure that you get right number of gears. If your trek has an 8-spd rear, it might be hard to find the 8-spd shifters.

diff between lx and XT:
lx has bushings, xt has two bearings, making them feel smoother.

keep your old brake levers and spend the extra coin on a set of shifters-only...
Did you break BOTH?
If not, you only need to replace the one.
