I was wondering what the differances between the Azonic, Profiles and FSA Tubular cranks. I know that the FSA V-drives are compatable with my existing bashring (Thresholds are awesome!!) 4-arm compact and it includes the BB. also a 10 yea warantee is nice! Has anyone tried these one, anyone have strong opinions about their profiles or azonics?
thanks

Ok, I don't know the full details but I think with those choices they would be almost the same. Personally, I just like the fact that the Profiles use a 48 splined BB axle while Azonic uses a less amount of splines. I don't know if it makes a difference in strength or not. The point is, you can't lose either way.

profiles and azonics are almost the same, altho i think u would be paying too much if u bought them, and judging by ur choices, i would say u are looking fo some stronger 3 peice cromo cranks, i would reccomend the x-drives over the v-drives, also if u have a bike that can accept a bmx bb get bmx 3 peice cranks, they are hella cheap check em at www.danscomp.com , i would personally prefer planet xs or onones over the profiles or azonics, just because of the price:)

Like some one said before the Profiles use a 48 splined axle which I havent been able to strip in 8 years ( had a set on my BMX and then just bought the BB for MTB and transfered them over). The Azonics use a pinch bolt system to hold on the arms. Personally I have never had any luck with three peice cranks that have a pinch bolt . A friend of mine has the FSA and he likes them and hasnt had any problems. Personnaly I would go with the Profiles a lifetime warranty cant be beat.
Another crank to look into is the On One Retard cranks a buddy of mine just got them and they are some of the beefiest cranks I have seen.

I currently use the On-One Reetard cranks made for a mtb bb. These cranks are very strong, the axle has many splines, not sure how many. I can't concieve of any way these would ever break. Only problem that happened was that I destroyed two of the cartridge bearings, but that was because I had to much compression on the bearings, make sure you adjust them correctly. Anyway, I recommend these highly, I only paid 125 for them, buy them from ben at www.unrealycles.com because he will take care of you if anything goes wrong.
