Well since some piece of crap stole my ENTIRE camera kit from my car this weekend, I get to go shopping. Looking for a fast zoom lens to replace my 17-25 2.8 Tamron. Good lens but want something with more range 18-200ish.
Any suggestions?
Not partial to brand but its going on a Nikon.

The tamron 17-35 2.8 is pretty good.
edit: I'm dumb. Maybe the sigma 18-200 3.4-6.3, http://photo.net/canon-eos-digital-camera-forum/00ESyy
18-200? This will end up being a huge variable aperture lens. I'd advise 2 lenses, a wider lens and a longer one. 15-50 range and 70-200. It depends what you shoot though.
I don't shoot between 40mm-70mm too much so I focused on those lengths instead, but when i do I use a 50mm 1.8 that cost me like $70.

I agree with Transcend, generally two lenses will serve you a lot better.
That said, the 18-200 VR Nikon is a surprisingly nice lens. Shockingly sharp for a consumer lens of that range.

Two lenses is another option I was thinking about and actual makes more sense, but was hoping to get away with one lens. I take it on hikes quite a bit and was hoping to keep equipment to a minimum. Thanks
