TDF Stage 5 Spoilers...

Holy crap. 144 miles comes down to 150 feet. Talk about timing the catch.

Seriously. I listened to it at work today (making a database of maps...got through about 180 today...fun....). The announcers sounded a bit bored in the middle of the stage. Sean Kelly ain't exactly Mr. Excitement either (though he did mention he was about 21 on his first stage win). The last part sounded nutty. Saw the video later and couldn't believe how close that French guy was to getting the stage. If you watch the overhead shot, though, it looks like he's standing still compared to the sprinters. I also read that the break deliberately slowed to make it look like they were being pulled in and then sped up at the 25km check to try and go for the win....almost worked....
